The Skypatrol product includes a device to install in your vehicle, a web ready tracking application and the necessary wireless communications.

The Skypatrol device that combines GPRS/GSM communications with GPS location technology to provide location reports. The Skypatrol needs to be properly installed, including 12V wiring, ignition and orientation for proper GPS and GPRS/GSM communication coverage. Please refer to our network of installers.

Once the Skypatrol is installed and registered, it remains in constant communication via the GPRS/GSM wireless network with the WEB application using GSM technology. When a request is made the application sends a message to the device which will then compute a fix for the current position and respond. This position fix should take no more than 1 minute, unless there is something obstructing the GPS signal or GPRS/GSM communications.

Skypatrol uses enhanced GPS to calculate its position fix, this means that it will be accurate within 20 feet.


These messages are then stored in the Skypatrol computer systems for you to access via your personal computer. The web application allows you to request a location report to be displayed in two ways: 1) Map showing the location and 2) Descriptive address for same location. This map will also display the heading of the vehicle at time of fix while the address will include the recorded speed at the same time.

By using the archive function you can view “breadcrumbs” or past location reports and sees tracking sequence for today’s, yesterday or any other selection of date range. This option also allows you to download the historic information for the device should you need more than 90 days.

For tracking purposes you may select the “Scheduled location report” option to configure an automatic location request for later review.
